IAMECO Warrior second interview with Boyan Slat, founder and president The Ocean Cleanup (July 2014) "The Ocean Cleanup is an environmentally friendly, large-scale and efficient way to remove plastic pollution from aquatic ecosystems" Boyan Slat has invented a method to clean up almost half of the great Pacific's garbage patch in just 10 years, using the currents to his advantage. Boyan Slat first presented his ideas during a TEDx Talk in Delft, which has inspired many people to assist him in working out his ideas. He was recognized as one of the 20 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs Worldwide (Intel EYE50). On 16 and 17 June 2014, Boyan was invited to attend "Our Ocean", an international conference hosted by The Honorable John F. Kerry, Secretary of State of the United States of America. By speaking about his ideas, Boyan inspired the world to join him on his mission. But the oceans won't get clean by means of just a great idea.
